“Wind Power Plant as Alternative Electrical Energy for the Fishermen Community of Muaro Ganting, Parupuk Village, Koto Tangah District”

Abstract

Power plants Wind power was first used to generate electricity built by P. La Cour of Denmark in the late 19th century.This community service program is to develop wind power plants as an alternative energy source that is renewed by using a horizontal wheel wind turbine to meet the household household energy needs in Muaro Ganting, Parupuk Subdistrict, Koto Tangah Subdistrict and using PLN at present PLN electricity prices per KWh continues to increase. In addition, through this activity intensive planning will be carried out to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of power plants from various aspects such as the selection of wind turbines that are in accordance with regional conditions, material selection, installation optimization, etc. This program is expected to be able to help the government program in providing electricity for residents of Muaro Ganting, Parupuk Sub-district, Koto Tangah District to improve the standard of living and welfare of the community.

 

PRELIMINARY

Situation analysis is an important part of the content of the proposal for community service which describes quantitatively the portrait, profile and condition of the target audience who will be involved in the activities of applying science, technology and art (IPTEKS). Description of locations and cases that occurred in terms of social, cultural, quality of community life supported by existing facts and data, as well as special problems faced by partners in accordance with research and community service guidebooks. Energy is important for people's lives. Various forms of energy that are directly related to society, such as heat energy for cooking, as well as electrical energy for lighting and other electrical equipment. Electrical energy for modern society has become a primary need that cannot be separated from everyday life [1]. Activities at home, office to transportation in fact require a large supply of electricity. However, the use of electrical energy for people who are economically disadvantaged cannot use it. Utilization of wind energy is actually not a new thing for mankind. Since 2000 years ago, the technology for utilizing wind and water resources has been known to humans in the form of wind mills [2]. Muaro Ganting, Parupuk Koto Tangah Village is located to the west of Padang State University with a distance of approximately 2.6 Km. Most of the people on Muaro Ganting Beach, Parunguk Koto Tangah Sub-district, depend on their livelihood by working as fishermen. The work of fishermen has not been able to provide economic improvement, so that there are still many people in the area who lack, have wooden houses and have not installed a PLN electricity source. Every human being has the right to obtain continuous education, both formally and informally and a decent living, so that in turn he will have strong mental, moral, moral and physical strength and become a highly cultured human being in carrying out his duties, obligations and responsibilities. in society [3]. A decent living is the ability of the community's economy to determine the level of diversity in community consumption, such as the use of electricity both as lighting and for household appliances. A decent living that is not fulfilled will force the community to use oil lamps as a means of lighting. This also makes it difficult for the community along with the current increase in fuel prices. Therefore, to improve the welfare of the people of Muaro Ganting, the provision of an adequate supply of electrical energy is a must necessity that must be met. It is hoped that the supply of sufficient electrical energy can increase the productivity and effectiveness of the residents' economy. Based on the analysis of the situation and problems obtained from the survey results, a source of electrical energy with very low operating costs is needed so that it does not become an additional burden for users. Wind power plants are the solution to this problem.

 

METHOD

The implementation method used during the implementation of this activity is as follows: Community service activities are carried out in mutual cooperation by involving all components of the Muaro Ganting community. Active participation of the community is highly expected in the success of this PLTAngin development. The community through the head of the RW/RT is asked to provide land for the construction of turbine support poles. (a) Design of technical equipment such as turbine, turbine control, frame, installation etc., (b) Construction of turbine truss (c) Work on the flow connection network to residents' houses, etc. After the installation, the youth at the location were also given training about the maintenance of the PLTAngin tools in order to add insight. Because skills can be obtained through training both in theory and practice in the field [4]. So if something goes wrong, they can fix it themselves. This evaluation is carried out to measure the output of wind power plants and assess the level of achievement of success and benefits of wind power plant development experienced by the community in Muaro Ganting. The form of evaluation carried out is to observe the results of measuring the generator output and the length of time the electricity used is stored in the battery.

 

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

The initial preparation for community service is to coordinate with the residents to ensure the implementation time and installation location. Then also carry out the preparation of literature studies on the ability of the turbine to be used, preparation of service tools and materials, determine and prepare equipment and components that will be used in community service activities. In order to help create peace and comfort in people's lives in Muaro Ganting, Parupuk Village, Koto Tangah District, this can be done by construction of small-scale wind power plants in the area. The installed Wind Power Plant has a capacity of 400 Watt, so it can be used as lighting in the youth hall which is a gathering place for youth or the community and water pumps that can be used by the surrounding community.

 

CLOSING

This community service program aims to build a wind power plant (PLTA) as a renewable alternative energy source by using a horizontal axis wind turbine to meet the energy needs of fishing communities, especially at the youth center in Muaro Ganting, Parupuk Village, Koto District.

Abstrak

Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga angin pertama kali digunakan untuk membangkitkan listrik dibangun oleh P. La Cour dari Denmark di akhir abad ke-19. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membangun pembangkit listrik tenaga angin (PLTA) sebagai sumber energi alternatif terbarukan dengan menggunakan turbin angin sumbu horizontal untuk memenuhi kebutuhan energi rumah tangga masyarakat nelayan di Muaro Ganting Kelurahan Parupuk Kecamatan Koto Tengah yang sampai saat ini belum mampu untuk memasang dan menggunakan listrik PLN apalagi saat ini harga listrik PLN per KWh terus meningkat. Disamping itu, melalui kegiatan ini serangkaian perencanaan yang intensif akan dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektifitas pembangkit listrik dari berbagai aspek seperti pemilihan turbin angin yang sesuai dengan kondisi daerah, pemilihan material, optimalisasi instalasi,dll. Dengan kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat membantu program pemerintah dalam penyediaan listrik bagi warga Muaro Ganting Kelurahan Parupuk Kecamatan Koto Tangah untuk meningkatkan taraf hidup dan kesejahteraan masyarakat.

PENDAHULUAN
Analisis situasi merupakan bagian penting dari isi proposal pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang menguraikan tentang gambaran secara kuantitatif potret, profil dan kondisi khalayak sasaran yang akan dilibatkan dalam kegiatan penerapan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi dan seni (IPTEKS). Gambaran lokasi dan kasus yang terjadi dari segi sosial, budaya, mutu kehidupan masyarakat yang didukung dengan fakta dan data yang ada, serta permasalahan khusus yang dihadapi oleh mitra sesuai dengan buku panduan penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat . Energi merupakan hal yang penting bagi kehidupan masyarakat. Berbagai bentuk energi yang berkaitan langsung dengan masyarakat misalnya energi panas untuk memasak, serta energi listrik untuk penerangan dan peralatan listrik lainnya. Energi listrik bagi masyarakat modern telah menjadi kebutuhan primer yang tidak bisa lepas dari kehidupan sehari-hari [1]. Aktivitas di rumah, kantor hingga transportasi nyatanya membutuhkan pasokan listrik yang tidak sedikit. Namun penggunaan energi listrik bagi masyarakat yang kurang mampu dari segi ekonomi tentu tidak dapat menggunakannya. Pemanfaatan energi angin sebenarnya bukan barang baru bagi umat manusia. Semenjak 2000 tahun lalu teknologi pemanfaatan sumber daya angin dan air sudah dikenal manusia dalam bentuk kincir angin (wind mills) [2].
Muaro Ganting Kelurahan Parupuk Koto Tangah terletak disebelah Barat Universitas Negeri Padang dengan jarak kira-kira 2,6 Km. Masyarakat di pantai Muaro ganting kelurahan parupuk Koto Tangah sebagian besar menggantungkan kehidupannya dengan bekerja sebagai nelayan. Pekerjaan nelayan belum dapat memberikan perbaikan dari segi ekonomi, sehingga masyarakat di daerah tersebut masih banyak yang kekurangan, memiliki rumah kayu dan belum terpasang sumber listrik PLN.
Setiap manusia berhak mendapatkan pendidikan yang berkelanjutan, baik secara formal, maupun informal dan penghidupan yang layak, sehingga pada gilirannya ia akan memiliki mental, akhlak, moral, dan fisik yang kuat serta menjadi manusia yag berbudaya tinggi dalam melaksanakan tugas, kewajiban, dan tanggung jawabnya di dalam masyarakat [3]. Penghidupan yang layak merupakan kemampuan ekonomi masyarakat untuk menentukan tingkat keanekaragam konsumsi masyarakat seperti penggunaan listrik baik sebagai penerangan maupun untuk keperluan peralatan rumah tangga. Penghidupan layak yang tidak terpenuhi akan memaksa masyarkat tersebut menggunakan lampu minyak sebagai alat penerangan. Hal ini pun juga mempersulit masyarakat seiring dengan meningkatnya harga bahan bakar minyak saat ini. Oleh karena itu, untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat Muaro Ganting, maka penyediaan suplai energi listrik yang mencukupi merupakan suatu
keniscayaan yang harus dipenuhi. Diharapkan dengan pasokan energi listrik yang cukup dapat menambah produktifitas dan efektifitas perekonomian warga dapat ditingkatkan. Berdasarkan analisis situasi dan permasalahan yang diperoleh dari hasil survey maka diperlukan sumber energi listrik dengan biaya operasional yang sangat rendah sehingga tidak menjadi tambahan beban penggunanya. Pembangkit listrik tenaga angin menjadi solusi untuk permasalahan tersebut.

METODE
Metode pelaksanaan yang dilakukan pada saat pelaksanaan kegiatan ini, adalah sebagai berikut :

 kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan secara bergotong royong dengan melibatkan seluruh komponen masyarakat Muaro Ganting. Partisipasi aktif masyarakat sangat diharapkan dalam mensukseskan pembangunan PLTAngin ini. Masyarakat melalui Ketua RW/RT diminta untuk menyediakan lahan tempat pembangunan tiang penyangga turbin.Diharapkan Rancang bangun PLTAngin ini dilakukan melalui beberapa langkah;

(a) Perancangan peralatan teknis seperti turbin, kontrol turbin, rangka, instalasi dll, (b) Pengerjaan konstruksi tiang penopang turbin

(c) Pengerjaan jaringan sambungan aliran ke rumah warga dll.
Setelah dilakukan pemasangan, pemuda dilokasi tersebut juga diberikan pelatihan
tentang pearawatan alat PLTAngin tersebut agar dapat menambah wawasan. Karena keterampilan dapat diperoleh melalui pelatihan baik secara teori maupun praktik di lapangan[4]. Sehingga jika terjadi kerusakan maka pemuda-pemuda tersebut dapat memperbaikinya sendiri. Evaluasi ini dilakukan untuk mengukur keluaran pembangkit listrik tenaga angin dan menilai tingkat pencapaian keberhasilan dan manfaat pembangunan pembangkit listrik tenaga angin yang diraskan oleh masyarakat di muaro ganting tersbut. Bentuk evaluasi yang dilakukan adalah mengamati hasil pengukuran keluaran generator dan lama waktu penggunaan listrik yang tersimpan di bateray.

HASIL DAN PEMBAHASAN
Persiapan awal pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah dengan melakukan koordinasi dengan pihak warga untuk memastikan waktu pelaksanaan dan lokasi pemasangan. Kemudian juga melaksanakan persiapan studi pustaka tentang kemampuan turbin yang akan digunakan, persiapan alat dan bahan pengabdian, menentukan dan mempersiapkan peralatan serta komponen yang akan digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat. Agar dapat membantu menciptakan ketentraman, dan kenyamanan dalam kehidupan masyarakat di Muaro Ganting Kelurahan Parupuk Kecamatan Koto Tangah dapat dilakukan dengan pembangunan pembangkit listrik tenaga angin skala kecil di daerah teresbut. Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Angin yang dipasang mempunyai kapasitas 400 Watt, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai penerangan di balai pemuda yang merupakan tempat berkumpul pemuda atau masyarakat dan Pompa air yang dapat dimanfaatkan masyarakat sekitar.

PENUTUP
Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membangun pembangkit listrik tenaga angin (PLTA) sebagai sumber energi alternatif terbarukan dengan menggunakan turbin angin sumbu horizontal untuk memenuhi kebutuhan energi masyarakat nelayan terutama di balai pemuda di Muaro Ganting Kelurahan Parupuk Kecamatan Koto

	Editorial Judgment   I think the sentence-by-sentence that the author wrote is very good and very easy to understand for readers to read, but in writing, there are several words that I need to improve, namely, the words finished, grounding, carry, and started. but overall I appreciate the author in choosing sentence by sentence.
